There are certain categories mentioned in the fee structure list of different branches...how would I know to which category I belongs to..

It is really simple to know the Category you belong to.
Vellore Institute of Technology is a private Institute and hence fees are obviously higher than government colleges.
Ever year VIT divides the candidates According to their VITEEE Score/Rank so that scholarships can be awarded to them.
VITEEE Scholarship Categories are as follows:-
Category 1 : rank (1 to 20,000)
Category 2 : rank (20,001 to 40,000)
Category 3 : rank (40,001 to 65,000)
Category 4 : rank (65,001 to 99,999)
Category 5 : rank (1 lakh and above)

That's how you can know your Category.
You will get fee concessions Accordingly.
