I would like to inform you that Person With Disability (PWD) have a reservation of 5 percent seats at various Indian Institute of Technologies in each of the following categories:

GENERAL (OPEN)

OBC-NCL

SC

ST

There is a criterion of 40% impairment preference. According to this, the candidates who are having 40% or more disability irrespective of the type- locomotive, visual or dyslexia are given higher priority.

There are certain documents which are a compulsory requirement for proof. They are:

• Original and 1 attested photocopy of valid Disability certificate.

• The details of Medical Authority issuing the Disability Certificate.

The following reports are required to be submitted by Dyslexic candidates which are to be issued by the government organisations only:

• Handicap percentage should not be less than 40%
• Permanent disability only

A scribe is an individual who writes the examination for a person with a physical or learning disability and which restrains him from writing the examination. Typically, the scribe reads out the question and writes the response/marks the response in OMR sheet after the candidate says the final answer. For IIT JEE Advanced, a scribe is a class 11 student from science stream having Mathematics as one of the subjects, then:

• PwD candidates (including Dyslexic, blind, lost fingers/hands, disability in upper limbs) can avail services of a scribe to mark responses in the OMR sheet

• Send the Scribe Request form (find below) along with PwD Certificate/Dyslexic Evaluation report to Chairman, JEE Advanced uploaded during registration

• Candidates cannot bring their own scribes. Zonal IITs do the needful

• Candidate and scribe meet one day prior to exam (Saturday, May 18) along with IIT representatives

If found that candidate does not require the use of scribe then the evaluation, ranking and admission of the student will get cancelled.

Yes,definitely there is reserved PWD category in jee advanced too like other exam. It will help you in getting admissions in IITs. Under these reservation there is a separate percentage of seats available for only physically disabled candidates. There are general pwd,obcncl pwd.
