Only ncert books you have to fellow if you want to score good marks
NEET covers 80-85% syllabus from NCERT only so it would be better if you focus on that first properly as these are very helpful to make all the concepts strong and clear and once these are done you can refer other books like -
Physics 1. The Concept of Physics by HC Verma 2. Objective Physics by Prof. Satya Prakash Arya (MTG Publishers) 3. Concepts of Competition Physics For CBSE PMT by Agarwal 4. NCERT Physics by Anil Aggarwal.
Biology 1. Moderns ABC of Biology for XI & XII – B. B. Arora, A. K. Sabharwal- Modern Publishers 2. Exploring Biology (Vol 1 & 2) – Sanjay Sharma & Sudhakar Banerjee – Arihant Publications 3. Objective Biology (Vol 1, 2 & 3) – K. N. Bhatia / K. Bhatia – Dinesh Publications 4. Medical Entrances Biology (Vol 1, 2 & 3) – Mamta R. Solanki & Lalita Ghotik – Target Publications.
Chemistry 1. Physical Chemistry by OP Tandon (G. R. Bathla Publications) 2. Objective Chemistry (Set of 3 Vols) (S. Dinesh & Co.) 3. Modern’s ABC of Chemistry (Part 1 & 2) 4. Organic Chemistry by Himanshu Pandey (GRB Publication).
Hope this helps!!!
Hi Jyothi, First thing i would like to know is in which standard u r right now - 11th/12th/ post 12..and next when are you planning to take the exam (NEET)..this will help to know the time you have to prepare.....Because there are n number of books in the market ..And no book can guarantee sure shot result........... What is more important is to follow limited books but follow them religiously...Like if you are reading NCERT books...don't leave a single example given in ncert specially in biology.....if you are confident enough of mastering NCERT then move to other reference book.....you can check your preparation level here in PREPMETER in careers360....best of luck....
NCERT for bio, organic/inorganic chemistry, Pradeep(Aakash package) for physics and chemistry
First of all your aim should be to go through all of you meet books thoroughly.
Hello Dear, firstly I would like to say, u should go through the NCERT book,u should read and learn each and every point of every chapter, and then give some mock test before 3-4 month of neet..and learn some technique to how to solve questions fast from net or YouTube bcoz time management is everything.i think this is enough to score better and good rank in neet.
Don't fell anxiety everything will be fine, may God bless you always and best of luck.
As per my experience, here are a few tips to score top ranks in NEET:
- First, you should be thorough with the NCERT prescribed textbooks. In physics and chemistry, ensure that you understand the solved examples. The analogy in the answers are similar for answering NEET questions. In biology, every word is important because about 80-85% of the questions are quite direct. The textbooks present the basic concepts, if you're not clear with it, the reference books are not going to help because they build on these basics.
- For reference books,
1) I can recommend Pradeep's Objective Textbooks for all the three subjects for the questions, as practice.
2) For conceptual understanding, you may use HC Verma's Concepts for physics, Modern ABC's textbooks for physics and chemistry and Dinesh's Objective textbook for Biology.
- Towards the end of your preparation, I recommend that you solve papers as mock exams and learn time management as you do so (I can't give one definite method as everybody has different tactics). Also analyse your papers; I used to write the page[for biology] and the concept[for physics and chemistry] next to each question as a review.
- Last but not least, if you have any doubts, never be afraid to ask your teachers and try not to worry as much as possible(if you do, it's fine, just don't let it get to you)
In terms of books, you should prepare with the Physics, Chemistry and Biology NCERT textbooks of Class 11 and Class 12 for sure. Separately, for Physics, it is recommended you also go through Halliday and Resnick's Fundamentals of Physics, HC Verma's Concepts of Physics and Iradov's Problems in General Physics. Pradeep's publication on Fundamentals of Physics is also very helpful. In Chemistry, practise books by VK Jaiswal, MS Chauhan and N Awasthi which respectively cover Inorganic, Organic and Physical Chemistry portions, along with the NCERT textbooks of OP Tandon will be most useful. You can also refer JD Lee's book for Inorganic Chemistry and Morrison and Boyd for Organic Chemistry. For Biology, there are Trueman's Volume 1 and Volume 2 Biology texts, Dinesh on Objective Biology and Ansari on Objective Botany. Hope these help!
