Hello,
JEE Main candidates can participate in the entrance exam for 3 consecutive years. The exam will be conducted twice a year, they may appear in both the attempts. The attempt for an academic year will be considered as One.

Hello
A candidate who is currently in 12th and is appearing for the first time can attempt JEE for the next three years, and since the exam is conducted twice a year, it makes a total of six attempts. E.g. If you are passing 12th in 2020 or currently studying in 12th class in 2019 then you can appear in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
