Hi Madhusudan, MD course seats - 16189 seats and MS course seats - 8684 seats, Total of 24,873 seats........4000 more seats is said to be added but yet not shown on MCI website....

As per the current information, there are around 24,873 seats available in which 16189 seats are for MD and 8684 seats are available for MS. Also, as per the press release out in March 2017 they have added 4000 seats for the same. You can also go through the below link to get the details -

As per the existing data given on the official website of the Medical Council of India (MCI), there are a total of 24,873 seats in MD and MS courses across medical colleges of India. Of this, MD courses account for 16189 seats and MS courses account for 8684 seats. As per a statement made by the Union Health Minister JP Nadda in March 2017, over 4,000 PG medical seats had been approved by the Government for 2017-18. However the number of MD and MS seats in this has not yet been revealed nor have the new seats been reflected in data held by the MCI. Hence, it is better to consider the MD and MS seats as currently given by the MCI and specified above.
