Two numbers are greater than the third number by 25% and 20% respectively. what percent of first number is the second number?

Let the three numbers be A,B,C.

A is greater than B by 25%

A - C = 25/100 = 0.25

B is greater than C by 20%

B - C = 20/100 = 0.20

A = 0.25+C ; B = 0.20+C

So, A - B = 0.05

B = A - 0.05 = 100 -5 = 95%

Therefore ,first number is greater than the second number by 5%
