two varieties of rice are mixed in the ratio 2:3 and thr mixturr is sold at rupee 12 per kg at a profit of 20 percent . if the first variety costs rupee 7 perkg more than the second variety, find the cosy per kg of thr first variety
Greetings!!
For solving this problem, you can make approach through 2 methods. First is by assuming the quantity of rice in the mixture to be fixed and second one which is descripted below.
Let the amount of rice be 2 x and 3 x
For rice of amount 2 x , cost price per kg= Rs7
For rice in amount 3 x , cost price per kg= Rs y (say)
So, the cost price of the mixture = 7x 2 x + y x 3 x
Selling price of the mixture= 12 x 5 x = 60 x
profit = 20% of CP
therefore, SP = CP + Profit
Solve the equation, you will get the answer Rs 14.9 .
