It all depends upon the scores that are scored by the candidates because according to that the cutoff will be given for castes. like for example the cutoff in Jee mains for General category is 90, then the candidate who got above 90 is eligible for writing JEE ADVANCE exam(i hope you know this). It doesnt matter what rank you got, all it matters is have you scored more than the cutoff marks or not.
