Want to get into UPSC what would be the best stream for me in graduation ?
First of all, if you think that you want to be an IAS then I will suggest you to go for Bachelor In Arts.
You can take majors Political science or sociology.
This subjects help one to crack any government exams like UPSC, SSC CGL and State Public Comission Exams and RRB too.
This subjects are very informative and easy to understand.
I will say if you belong from Arts background then please go for it but if you are from other background like Science, I will suggest that think twice or thrice or hundred times before changing streams.
UPSCs syllabus is unrecognizable and it changes with time.
So. work hard and start reading newspaper and always motive yourself.
Hope I Helped You.
Cheers !!
Hello Aditya, For UPSC the subject needs to be strong are - History, Geography, Polity, Environmental and Science, Art and culture, Economics and current affair... because these subjects are in both prelims and Mains...
Other then this UPSC also has 9 Mains paper among which has one optional paper consisting of 2 parts (1 & 2) 500 marks, and candidate can choose any optional either from Arts subject/ commerce subject or else subject (As mentioned By UPSC)
Now come to your question, Arts contains subjects like economics, history, polity etc, whereas commerce has subjects related to accountancy and finance... and there is no compulsion, u can give paper with any field. SO, now i think things must be getting clear inorder to make career choice,,,,
Best of luck
