The syllabus for the FCI exam is different for different posts, such as Assistant Grade III, Junior Engineer, or Manager. Generally speaking, the syllabus has the following topics:
Phase I (Preliminary Exam)
- Reasoning Ability: Coding-Decoding, Seating Arrangement, Puzzles, Syllogism, Blood Relations, etc.
- Numerical Aptitude: Simplification, Profit and Loss, Data Interpretation, Number Series, etc.
- English Language : Reading Comprehension, Error Spotting, Para Jumbles, Cloze Test, etc.
Phase II (Main Exam )
The exact subjects vary with the job post applied for:
- General Studies: Current Affairs, Indian Economy, History, and Geography.
- Technical Knowledge : For JE or technical posts, questions pertaining to Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
