what after btech biotechnology

* After a BTech degree, students can find jobs in pharmaceutical companies, research labs and institutions in India.

* Most Indian students tend to go ABROAD to pursue their masters or doctorate studies in Biotechnology and allied fields.

* Students can also shift to MBA and enter the world of business, finance, and banking as their engineering background gives them the required quantitative skills to excel in these sectors.

* Talking about on-campus placements, since the number of job openings is very less in Biotechnology, the number of companies coming for placements will be very less. Also, core companies only hire students from universities such as IITs, NITs, etc. If your university(AMITY ) is not reputed nationally or state wise, chances of any biotech or pharmaceutical company coming for placements sessions will be close to nil.

You can go for

1. Job in pharmaceutical and other industries
2. Be a junior research fellow
3. Go for two years job and go for Executive MBA
4. Take MTech biotechnology or go for specialization and then if further interested can go for Ph.D.
5. Go for teaching

There are a lot of opportunities available after Btech Biotechnology.You can work as a research scientist in Government Research Institutes like CCMB, National Brain Research Centre, National Institute of Oceanography. You can also be a  lecturer in Biology. You can also work in  Food processing, Drug and pharmaceutical research, Bio processing industries, Laboratories, Clinical Data Management,Regulatory Affairs .If you are interested in higher studies and PhD you can give entrance exams like CSIR -UGC NET and DBT BET.

After completion of B.tech in Biotechnology, you can work for various private firms that deals in drug making, Food processing and Bio-processing industries,Laboratories Chemicals, Environment control etc.Further if your plan is to enter in research field then you will have to do masters and Ph.D to become a researcher.Its a good field and has great scope in future.
