What are the criteria for the admission in Presidency University and Indian Institute of Statistics, Kolkata?

for presidency college ,the entrance exams will be conducted which are known as PUBDET for UG admissions and PUMDET for PG courses.

the eligibility criteriae is,

under BA,

the following courses such as,

• sociology,performing arts,political science,history courses requires that the applicants should have passed in their +2 board examination with 70% of aggregate marks.
• bengali and hindi courses needs the candidate should have passed in their +2 board examination with minimum 60% of aggregate marks and also requires 65% separetely in the respective languages.
• for philosophy, the candidate should have passed in their +2 board examination with minimum 60% of aggregate marks and 65% in english.
• for english, the candidate should have passed in their +2 board examination with minimum 80% of aggregate marks (arts).

Under B.Sc,

• economics  and statistics courses requires the eligibility that the  the candidate should have passed in their +2 board examination with minimum75% of aggregate marks (physics+chemistry+maths/statistics).
• chemistry requires the eligibility that the  the candidate should have passed in their +2 board examination with minimum 80% of aggregate marks (physics+chemistry+maths)and 80% separately in chemistry subject.
• geology requires the eligibility that the  the candidate should have passed in their +2 board examination with minimum 75% of aggregate marks (physics+chemistry+maths).
• for maths, the  the candidate should have passed in their +2 board examination with minimum 75% of aggregate marks (physics+chemistry+maths) and 80% separately in maths
• for physics, the  the candidate should have passed in their +2 board examination with minimum 80% of aggregate marks (physics+chemistry+maths) and 80% separately in combined marks  of physics maths.

selection criteriae:

selection criteriae will be based on PUBDET score followed by counselling.

for indian institute of statistics,

the admission is based on the score in the entrance exam conducted by the university only.the eligibility is the candidate should have passed in their +2 board exam with maths and english as compulsory subjects.
