AICTE has ruled that Chemistry is not mandatory for admission to B.Tech and B.E courses. Students can complete their 12th with Physics and Mathematics including other optional subjects like Biology and Biotechnology and still be eligible for JEE Mains. The optional subjects can be Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology. Computer Science, IT, Informatics Practise, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics and Business studies. This may be followed in JEE Mains from next year.
