Hello Abhi Taylor.

In first year for BTech in cse the course of CS is basic information of programming .

For this you can follow the books like "Let us C" and basic programming language.

These are the sufficient enough books.

Let us c will cover the syllabus of first semester as well as second semester.

Generally all the collges teach basics of physics, chemistry, maths, engineering drawings, workshop technology etc.. These are not so useful for later part for CSE engineering. So you can go for any book or one recommended by your teacher. There are are video lectures of NPTEL on all course. These all will be helpful in getting good marks in 1st year. But focus on how to maximize your CGPA in 1st year only. It will be very helpful for later part.
