To appear for CDS, you have to be 20 to 24 years of age and unmarried.
You must have cleared Undergraduation, or studying in the final year.
You have to be a citizen of India. However, students from Nepal, Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka Bhutan and Tibetan refugee and East African Countries of Uganda, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Zaire, Zambia and Ethiopia or Vietnam can also apply.
There are other requirements such as regarding height:
- Height (male): Army - 157.5 cm, Navy - 157 cm, Air Force - 162.5 cm
- Height (Female): 152 cm
- For NE India - Relaxation of 5 cms
