What are the steps to be eligible for giving IIT if I am in 9th and On which Subjects I have to follow and Things to Ignore
Hello Applicant,
Firstly, class 9 will be the best time to start your preparations. For getting into IIT's you will have to sit for the JEE Mains and crack it so that you can sit for JEE Advance.
So basically you have to be eligible for JEE Mains first. The following is the eligibility criteria for JEE Mains :
Qualifying Exam : Candidates must qualify their 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board.
Subjects: Candidates must have to take minimum 5 subjects in the 12th/equivalent examination. Candidates must have passed class 12th with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject.
Passing Marks : There is no prescribed percentage to appear in the examination. Candidates having passing marks can also apply.
Since you have decided to go for engineering only so the main subjects that you should concentrate mainly on are Maths and Physics. You have to select these subjects as your main subjects after passing the 1oth standard.
