Hello Krishna

I think, by mistake you have written GATE score instead of GATE marks but that is understood.

So, coming to the point at 56 GATE marks in ECE, there is a very little chance to get into IIT's with major speacilization.

Considering any IIt then yes you can get IIt Gandhinagar or IIt ropar or IIt Patna( i am not sure).

Hello Krishna,

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is conducted annually for admissions to postgraduate courses offered by IITs, NITs and other GFTIs and colleges. The scores of the exam are also used by PSUs for recruitment.

Considering your score and that you are a general category aspirant, you should be able to get admission in all IITs except Madras, Delhi, Kanpur and Kharagpur. Though in IIT Bombay and Roorkee you will get less preferred courses, but in newer ones, you will get courses of your choice.
