Dear student,
In simple words, quanta means a packet of energy present in it's discrete state ( means countable ). Now, quantum means many number is small packets of energy.
According to the terms of physics, quantum is a discrete quantity of energy proportional in magnitude to the frequency of the radiation it represents.
Also quantum is the smallest indivisible entity, for eg - photon of light.
