what happened when less marks obtained in improvement exam in compared to main exam(12th board exam)

According to the CBSE rule, candidate appearing for Improvement of Performance or for Additional subject will be issued a separate fresh Marksheet cum Certificate reflecting only the marks obtained in the said examination.
If you scored less in the improvement exam then you can consider your previous marksheet only for further reference.
