For admission into the IITs,a score of 650-700 would a great one for GATE.NOw if a candidate socres low marks in GATE,that doesn't mean that he/she does not have any potential to score good marks.Confidence,motivation and sucess are among the few things which helps the candidate to achieve success in his/her life.I would suggest you to sit for the GATE examination next year again and give your best.There is nothing to be demotivated.

Otherwise you can try for the institutes which conduct their own entance examinations.

Hii,

GATE is a National level Common Entrance test to get admission in various Engineering Colleges to pursue Mtech course as well as to get job in PSU'S with better GATE score. If you are unable to crack GATE exam. You can apply Next year and crack PSU.

See, you can get PSU's only if your rank is below 400 and in many cases it is sometimes below 300. So, do not get demotivated if you don't have a GATE rank of 400 or below as if your rank is Under 800 then you can get IIT's (except Bomabay and Madras).
