what if student is failing in two subjects physics 30/100 chemistry 26/100 biology 85/100 grace mrk will be given ???
Hi Reshma,
You have not mentioned which board you are referring to so I am assuming you are talking about CBSE here. My answer will be based on the rules of CBSE board.
A candidate needs to score at least 33 marks out of 100 in each subject to pass. Now what CBSE does is that if a candidate is failing due to 5 marks or less then grace marks is awarded to that candidate so as to help him/her clear the exams but in your case you have mentioned that the student got 26 in chemistry so 7 marks will be needed for him/her to pass so this might not be awarded with grace marks & the person might have to appear for a compartmental exam.
For physics, 3 extra marks can be awarded to let the student clear the exam but in chemistry, it will be a problem.
The student has already passed in biology so no need of any grace marks.
Hope this helps.
