Vulcanisation is a process in which strength of rubber is increased by adding some external material to it. Most commonly in the vulcanisation of rubber the rubber is heated at high temperature and pressure with sulphur. During the chemical process sulphur atoms form bridges with rubber this gives the strength and durability to rubber.
