All candidates appearing in the exam have to meet the below-mentioned eligibility criteria of NATA:
- The student must have passed an examination at the end of the 10+2 scheme of examination with at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and also at least 50% marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination
or
- The student must have passed a 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as a compulsory subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate
those appearing the 10+2 exam with PCM subjects in the
current year may also provisionally appear in the exam, however, their result
in NATA-2019 will be declared valid subject to fulfilling the above criteria.
Age limit:
There is no minimum or maximum age criteria for appearing in the exam. However, you need to meet any additional criteria that may be specified by the institute you are getting admitted to.
Lateral admission:
There is no provision of direct lateral entry at any stage of the B.Arch. course.
The above-listed eligibility criteria do not guarantee admission to B.Arch. courses. In addition, you will also have to qualify NATA 2019 or an equivalent exam.
Some preparation tips:
- Good sketching is essential, along with it topics like effects of light & shadow, sense of perspective drawing, scale & proportions, 3 Dimensional elements etc also need to be understood. So, increasing your observation power will help to develop these skills.
- The basic tip for all entrance exams is to go through all previous papers. Solving at least 10 - 20 past papers of NATA within the time frame will help you figure out a comfortable sequence of answering the paper.
- There is no need for mugging up G.K. books but increase your awareness of the construction work happening around. Research about famous architects, their works and contributions to the field of architecture. Read newspapers, books, magazines so that you develop a good knowledge along with a genuine passion for this field.
