What is aerospace engineering ..?
Dear Prince,
Hello Prince
Aerospace Engineering is very wide field. It includes basically three follwing major sub sets;
1. Aerodynamics and Propulsion
2. Structures
3. Controls and dynamics
Now these can be divided into many more subsets.
1. Aerodynamicist: They work with anything that includes air, be it car, fan, kite, or a plane. Even your vacuum cleaners. They are one who streamlines your vehicle to give optimum efficiency. Reducing Drag in short.
There are Aeroacoustics people also who work with aerodyamicist to reduce noise pollution.
2. Propulsion: as the name suggest, they are responsibly for moving things. Jet engines, Space Propulsion, Fan design etc. Nothing can fly or move without a propulsion guy. They calculate amount of fuel and consumption according to the size. They are ones who makes a plane go fast or slow.
3. Controls and dynamics: They are responsible for making sure everything is well connect and all the systems talk to each other. Example: When the pilot leaves the cockpit, the autopilot which flies the planes is designed by these guys. Flap deflection, moving and turning the aircraft. It is very complicated and important. Also, the space counter part do the same thing but in space. They control the satellites.
