The cutoff required for admission varies every year depending on many factors. Some of the factors determining the cutoff are:
Difficulty level of the exam
Number of candidates appearing for the exam
Number of seats
Category of the candidate, etc.
There are two types of cutoff: qualifying cutoff and the admission cutoff.
Qualifying cutoff is the marks a candidate need to secure to be eligible to apply for admission and after that every college declares its own cutoff which varies specialties wise, category wise and depending on other factors for admissio.
