No, it is not compulsory to give JEE Main paper 2 if you are not interested in B.Arch.
JEE Main Paper 2 is to take admission in B.Arch course to get admission in NITs.
To take admission in architecture course in IITs you have to give JEE Main paper 1 to qualify for JEE Advanced then you have to appear for AAT exam.
