The pollinia are the dispersal units of coherent massulae of pollen grains. The massulae are more or less pyriform in shape, triangular in outline, or more or less tabular in shape, oblong in outline, both types with blunt edges. Their sizes vary with the species, but always arranged radially, thus obtaining the best use of available space.
