What is Noun ?How many kinds of Noun
Hi,
A noun is a part of speech that is used to identify a person, an animal, a place, a thing, or an idea. It helps to determine what or who is being discussed.
Nouns can be classified into-
- Proper nouns- Those that are used to name a person, place, or thing specifically. They always begin with a capital letter. Ex- My name is Bella.
- Common nouns- those nouns that refer to a generic item, group, or place. Meaning they are not used to identify a specific person, place, or object. Ex- I am going to the market (common place).
- Singular nouns- these are used to name a single person, place, animal, or object. Ex- He is my brother (single person).
- Plural nouns- Those that refer to several people, places, animals, or things. Nouns are made plural by using 's', 'es', 'ies', or 'ves' at the end of the word. Ex- I want oranges.
- Collective nouns- a noun that is used to denote a group of objects or animals, or people. Ex- A murder of crows or a band of musicians.
Hope it helps!!!
