What is OBC non ceramy category

OBC which stands for Other Backward Classes, includes many other sub-castes under it.

To know whether your caste in under OBC you can visit the following link-

If your caste is under the central OBC list, then further you have two groups

1.OBC Creamy layer

2.OBC Non-creamy layer

The criteria to decide whether you belong to one of the above-mentioned group is based on the annual income of your parents. (Note here that your income is not taken into account for this).

If the annual income of your Parents (including mothers and fathers) is more than 8 Lakhs then you belong to the creamy layer of OBC and if it is below 8 lakhs then you belong to Non-creamy Layer group of OBC.

Furthermore, there are other detailed criteria based on the profession of the parents and the way to know whether you belong to the creamy layer or non-creamy layer. You can find more information on the below link
