What is percentile in jee examination
Hello aspirant
The percentile score indicates the percentage of the candidates that have scored EQUAL to or BELOW ( same or lower scores) that particular percentile in that examination. Therefore the topper ( highest score ) of each session will get the same percentile of the same percentile of 100 which is desirable.
suppose if you get 90 percentile it means you are ahead of 90 % candidates in JEE main exam
Percentile Score is the score based on the relative performance of each candidate who gave the exam. To calculate a percentile score, the marks secured are converted into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each session of examinees, the topper get highest percentile. Percentile score is not the same as the percentage of marks secured.
Hello,
Percentile is a score which says where you belong in whole crowd of candidate who have appeared in jee mains.
let's say, if 100 candidates appeared jee main exam and you have got 85% in jee mains. It indicates that 84% of 100 i.e. 84 candidates are below you as they secured a score below your score. 14% of 100 have score above your score.
This is the simple meaning. There are candidates who get same percentile as their score in exam is same. Later it get normalized by the board as math score has given highest priority.
Hope it helps!
