Hii haroon
In jee advanced IITs decide a cutoff before the exam that is 35% for general, 31.5 for obc and so on for different reservation. Only those who get upto this marks are considered passed and are assigned a rank. And rest of other are not given rank. This minimum percentage is called qualifying percentage in jee advanced.
Hope 2
The official cutoff for JEE advanced has not been released yet.See cutoff of Jee advanced changes every year. Actually eligibility for getting a seat in IIT is 35% marks of the total. So JEE advanced officials give rank to the students who have scored marks greater than 35%.But getting a rank doesnt mean that you will get a seat too. As per the no. of seats available they set a criteria that students upto this rank are allowed for choice filling.
Hope it helps.
