What is scope after diploma in mechanical engineering
Hello!
Mechanical engineering is the discipline which applies engineering, physics, materials science principles and engineering mathematics to design, analyse, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems. This field of engineering is the oldest and broadest of all engineering fields and the job prospects for skilled mechanical engineers are copious and limitless in India and abroad.
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is a course that is pursued after class 10. The course focuses on imparting professional specialisation in the field of designing. The course includes the application of laws of physics for design, analysis and manufacturing of mechanical systems.
Students who choose the course are taught to form and collect motors and structures, control plants and vehicles of all sizes, understand concepts of mechanics, kinetics, hydraulics , energy and vitality.
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is just an extension of the various domains of engineering. The course deals with the application of principles of mechanical systems.
- It seeks to provide more accessible and quality education. The course touches each and every aspect of working of vehicle engines, watercraft, aircraft, warming and cooling frameworks, industrial equipment and machinery, robotics.
- Apart from this, the course touches the concepts of mechanics, kinetics, fluid mechanics, energy and many more.
- A Diploma course in Mechanical Engineering deals with the application of principles of mechanical systems.
- The course teaches various academic and practical aspects related to the domain to the students in a gradual manner.
- It gives you a chance to enter into the workforce just after 3 years of passing class 10.
- The student has the chance to do further studies down the line to add value to his Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
Career opportunities in mechanical engineering have been immense since its inception. After the successful completion of the course, students have opportunities to undertake employment in the private and public sectors. With additional qualifications, they can hold senior positions in managerial and administrative fields.
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is available in many colleges and universities. Almost all the universities that provide on campus classes for Diploma in Mechanical Engineering also have Distance Education. The time is 1-3 years for distance education.
Some of the colleges that provide Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, for this you need to make sure, you choose a right academic partner.Few of the leading Universities that offer Diploma are:
- IIT
- NIT
- Delhi Technical University
- Lovely Professional University
- UPTU
- IP and few more.
IIT generally becomes the first priority but I would suggest you to have a look over Lovely Professional University. You can even opt for higher education or dual degree program at LPU. LPU offers Diploma + Engineering which is one of the most demanding course among students. This course from LPU has shown tremendous placements as well.
From my personal experience, I would suggest you Lovely Professional University. LPU is one of the leading university which offers more than 200+ courses. LPU has highly qualified faculties, well equipped labs, excellent placements, complete placement and internship assistance, great infrastructure and lot more.
Admissions at LPU are going on through online mode.
I hope this help.
All the Best!
- I want a job after diploma 15000 salary .
Hello Student!

After doing diploma in Mechanical Engineering , the doors for many jobs will open for you. There are many options available for mechanical diploma holders such as:
1. Diploma Mechanical Engineer
2. Piping Designer
3. Maintenance Engineer
4. Quality Mechanical Engineer
This is amazing.
But mam tell me in present b.tech is not available for crrosponding.
So tell me please what i do now with job after diploma in mechanical engineering..
My interest in designing.
After Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, you can go for short term certificate courses like CNC Training, CAD/CAM Training, Catia, and Unigraphics etc. You can even go for a proper btech degree in Mechanical engineering or related field. There are post graduate diploma courses you can do like in Machine Maintenance, Product and Tool Design, Mechanical Safety Engineering, and Applied Mechanics etc.
In terms of jobs, after completing mechanical diploma, you can go for junior level posts in private or government sector. You can try for the positions like Technician, Supervisor, Junior Engineer, Clerk etc. in government sector. Taking various entrance exams for private and centralized banks as well as SBI and RBI is also a very good option.
