what is ' special round' in counseling?

JOSAA special round is CSAB.

CSAB(Central Seat Allocation Board) counselling is conducted separately . It is different from JOSAA.

After completion of 7 rounds of counselling by Josaa,

A separate notification will be issued for CSAB  registration. Candidates will be required to register in online mode for participating in CSAB . It is important that candidates first check the complete eligibility criteria of all the channels and then only proceed to fill the application form of CSAB  through the respective channel. Those candidates who will register for CSAB will have to fill their choice of colleges and courses in the order of their preference. The seat allotment of CSAB  will be done on candidates’ JEE Main merit, choice filling and seat availability.

Central Seat Allocation Board will conduct the CSAB 2020 special round for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. The CSAB special round for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs 2020 will be conducted after the conclusion of all rounds of JosAA counselling. The counselling authority will conduct two rounds of CSAB special round for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs 2020 to allott admission in vacant seats after JoSAA counselling. Students who are not allotted any seat in JoSAA or wish to upgrade their previously allotted seat in NITs, IIITs and GFTIs can participate in CSAB special rounds 2020. Students will be required to register in online mode for participating in CSAB special rounds 2020 for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Candidates with valid jee score will be considered for the special round CSAB 2020 for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs.
