What is the admission procedure to get into Saint Xavier's , Kolkata for B.com Honours.

There will be separate admission procedure for St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Kolkata and St. Xavier's University, Kolkata. Hence, the candidates aspiring to take admission need to apply separately through separate online forms available on the individual websites of the College and the University respectively.

Further, candidates need to go through the selection procedure which will be different for the College and the University. They must follow the admission guidelines as announced with the respective selection lists. It must be noted that admission to the College is not transferable to the University and vice-versa.

FOR 2019-20 year , admission forms are not yet available on the offcial website .

Below are the details you should know before applying for admission in this college.

For applying to B.Com. Hons. at St. Xavier's College College (Park Street Campus), Maths / B.Maths / Stats is compulsory in +2 level for calculation of aggregate.

However, for applying to B.Com. Hons.  at St. Xavier's University (New Town Campus), Maths/B.Maths/Stats is not compulsory in +2 level for calculation of aggregate.

General Information for Admission to B.Com. (Honours)

St. Xavier's College, offers the three year B.Com. with Honours, with specialization in one of the following groups :

Accounting and finance,

Marketing Management,

E-Commerce

Timings:

St. Xavier's Main Campus (Mother Teresa Sarani - Park Street):

B.Com. [Morning Session] : 6am - 9:50am : For Boys only

B.Com. [Evening Session] : 4:15pm - 8:05pm : Co-educational

There are separate forms for morning and evening sessions. In case one wishes to be considered for more than one sessions and/or campus, the candidate must fill up separate forms for each.

Admission Qualification for B.Com.

Regulations :

A candidate may be admitted to the B.Com (Honours) course provided he/she has passed the Higher Secondary Examination (plus two course) conducted by West Bengal Council for Higher Secondary Education or an equivalent examination recognized as such by University of Calcutta, subject to the fulfilment of the following conditions :

• A candidate applying for Honours must have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in the aggregate with 45% marks in at least four subjects including English and Maths/B.Maths/Stats and must have passed in all subjects as per the respective board/council pass marks.
  
  
• For applying to B.Com, Maths / Business Maths / Statistics is compulsory in Plus-II level.

Choice of Modern Indian Language

Hindi / Bengali / Alternative English. (Alternative English will be given only to students not having Hindi or Bengali at the Class-X level.)

Selection Procedure

Selection is done on the basis of marks obtained in 10+2 examination followed by interview. No admission test required.
