IRS Officers of India are appointed in several departments of both the central and state governments. The IRS officers receive their salary as per the central pay commission. In addition to the salary, they get several other allowances. The pay scales of the IRS officers depend on the ranks they are holding. There is a starting rank of each IRS officers and through departmental promotions they are lifted to higher ranks and their salary structures and the pay scales also get promoted. At present, the entry level pay scale of an IRS officer, i.e. for the post of Asst. Commissioner is approximate 15,600 – Rs. 39,100. This attracts a grade pay of approximate 1,400.
