Presidency College,Kolkata is one of the oldest centres where English Literature has been taught from the early nineteenth century onwards. Being able to study literature here is a matter of immense pride.
Admission for BA Honours English is based on the marks secured in common entrance test conducted by WBJEE Board called PUBDET,Presidency University Bachelors Degree Entrance Test.
For BA English the candidates must have obtained 80 per cent marks in Arts OR 85 per cent marks in Science/Commerce and 75 per cent marks in English.
The cut off is the aggregate of per centage scored in last exam plus the marks obtained in entrance test.
The first cut off varies from 170 to 180 or more.
