A process of removing a dissolved substance from a colloidal solution by means of diffusion through a suitable membrane called dialysis.

The sol to be purified is taken in a dialyser made up of parchment paper.The bag is suspended in a tank, in which water is circulated. Particles of true solution diffuse out from the bag. Water flowing in tank carries away these particles.This Results in purification and stabilisation of sol.
