There are many aspirants who have heard about terms like JEE, JEE Main, IIT JEE, JEE Advanced, etc. but have no clarity for the same.
In India, Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is the national level entrance conducted for screening into engineering institutes. The exam is conducted in two tiers, JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced.
JEE Main is conducted by the National Testing Agency twice a year, usually in January and April. Candidates who qualify the exam are offered admissions into NITs, IIITs and GFTIs.
For top 2,50,000 rank holders of JEE Main, JEE Advanced is conducted. Those who qualify the exam are offered admissions into Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
1. JEE Mains is conducted by NTA for admission to NITs, IIITs, CFTIs as well as other engineering and technology institutes run by the state governments and private institutions while JEE Advanced is conducted by IITs for admission in 23 IITs in the country.
2. In JEE -Main, your speed, basic concepts are checked, while in JEE-Advanced, your concepts are challenged at an advanced level.
