What is the marking scheme of JIPMER? What is the total marks?
Answer (1)
Hello Raj !
JIPMER stands for Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research is one of the elite medical colleges of India which conducts it's separate UG exam every year for the admission of 200 students in the course of MBBS. The exam is generally conducted in online mode during the 1st Sunday of June(commonly).
The pattern of exam is as follows :
Physics : 60 questions
Chemistry : 60 questions
Biology : 60 questions
Language & Comprehension : 10 questions
Mathematical and Logical Ability : 10 questions
Total : 200 questions
Time limit : 2 hr 30 mins.
Marking Scheme :
Correct Answer : +4
Incorrect Answer : -1
Unattempted question : 0
At first look it might seem that the paper might be quite tough as compared to NEET since the number of questions is more, added to that even the time limit is less.
But guess what, the questions in JIPMER are quite short and to the point, there's no point of twisting and turning of questions.
If you know the answer +4, if you don't, leave.
An on screen calculator would be provided too for easier calculations. The calculator would be an extremely basic one with the normal functions.

Hey Raj !Yes, all the questions are compulsory, you might not attempt a question in case you aren't sure about the answer ( save yourself from the -1)And yeah, the total score is 800.Till 2017, the full marks used to be 200, ( +1,0 marking scheme). From 2018, marking scheme has been altered.
Thanks a lot sir
