Hello Aspirant,
As JEE-Main is a national level engineering entrance exam so the reservation criteria is also implied as per the norms decided by Government of India and other competent authorities. Which goes like this :-
- General Economically Weaker Sections (GEN-EWS) - 10%
- Scheduled Castes (SC) - 15%
- Scheduled Tribes (ST) - 7.5%
- Non-Creamy Layer of Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) - 27%
- Persons with Disabilities - 5% in each category (Horizontal reservation)
PwD category candidates get Horizontal reservation of 5% across all categories and horizontal reservation means the PwD candidate will get 5% reservation in each category for e.g. you belongs to OBC NCL category and also you owns PwD certificate then you will be eligible for OBC-PwD category means in 27% quota of OBC candidates you will get 5% reservation advantage and similarly with other categories as well.
So other than OBC NCL there are 4 reserved categories and that are SC, ST, EWS and PwD.
