To begin with, Disaster management focuses on the causes of disasters and ways to minimise their impact on society. The course enables an aspirant to learn different areas of disaster management, which includes management of the situation, response to the needs of the people and the area, evacuation process, distribution of food and medical care for the injured people.
The scope of this domain is immense. Nowadays, there are excellent employment opportunities in both the government as well as in private organisations. Additionally, even the NGOs and International organisations such as World Bank, Asian Development Bank, United Nations Organisations, Red Cross, and UNESCO offer positions to professionally trained disaster management professionals as a full-time employee.
