What is the work of a designer under fashion show?

In a fashion show, a fashion designer showcases his/her months of hardwork of creating unique designed clothes to the audience which includes very powerful people from that industry which in turn will help in gaining them more exposure. So they have to choose models, check whether the clothes fit well or not, ensure the makeup is in sync and whether it will be well perceived by people or not. So a lot of thought process has to be done by the designer.
