NTA has released JEE Main 2021 exam date for February, March, April and May session.

The important dates for february session are as follows:

1. JEE Main 2021 registration date - 16 December,2020.

2. Last date to submit the form - 16 January 2021

3. Application form correction - 19 Jan to 21 Jan, 2021

4. Availability of Admit Card - Second week of February 2021

5. Exam date - 23 Feb to 26 Feb, 2021

Joint entrance exam or JEE is a national level engineering entrance exam. It qualifies candidates for IIIT, NIT, IIT and Government aided engineering colleges across country. Two different examinations make up the test: JEE Main and JEE Advanced.

JEE Main is a computer based online test conducted by NTA for students aspiring to pursue undergraduate course in top engineering in India. Students are granted admission to  CFITs, NITs and other government funded technical institutes based on the marks obtained in JEE main.

First of all there's no jee pre or jee prelims examination.

There's only :-

• jee main examination and
• jee advanced examination.

Both JEE main and JEE advanced are entrance examination conducted for providing admission in undergraduate engineering courses

Brief of both the JEE main and JEE advanced is provided below

JEE MAINS

*Through JEE mains admission in NITs ,IIITs, gfti ,CFTIs etc is provided for undergraduate engineering courses

* it is conducted by NTA

*It is conducted 4 times a year

*Eligibility criteria says that to be eligible  for JEE mains 2021 for BE or Btech you should be either appearing for 12th board exam or equivalent  in 2021 or should have passed it in 2020 or 2019 with Physics,  mathematics and anyone of Chemistry or Biology or Biotechnology or Technical Vocational Subject.

* You can attempt JEE Mains for three consecutive years starting from the year you passed your 12th

JEE ADVANCED

* JEE mains is conducted to provide admission in IITs. Some institutes other than IITs also accept jee advanced like Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram etc

* it is conducted by IITs themselves

* it is conducted only once in a year

* to be eligible you must qualify JEE mains first and also  need at least  75% marks in aggregate in class 12 if you belong to general or obc category or at least  65% marks if belongs to SC/ST or  must be in the top 20 percentile in  class 12 examination. For this year this % requirement criteria has been lifted off

* one has a maximum of two attempts for JEE advanced in 2 consecutive years
