What means of 20 percentile for iit eligibility please explained

Percentile indicates how many students have been outperformed by you in any examination and it is calculated as follows.

Percentile = no. of student have marks lesser than you / total no. of students appeared in the exam X 100

For you to be in top 20 percentile, you should ahead of 80% of the students taking the examination.

This is one is the elligibility criteria to be appear in JEE ADVANCE EXAMINATION.You have to be in top 20 percentile of boards score.This is one for state boards and for cbse boards your percenatge should be at least 75 percenatge in class XII examination.20 percentile stands that 20% candidates score equal to or less than your score.This is relative parameters of chrckich performance of candidates in board examination.
