What prepsc rank in jee advanced?...

Prep sc rank in JEE advance or preparatory rank is for the students belonging to SC, ST,and PWD category, who fail to qualify JEE adv by not clearing per subject cutoff. Hence the reserved seats for SC, ST and PWD cannot be offered to a candidate of different category. So for these vacant seats, students are selected for preparatory course to prepare them to pursue competitive academic program in IITS for one year. At the end of this course, candidate are declared as pass or fail by internal examination of the IIT.

On successful completion of the course, the candidate are offered direct admission next year to the already alloted undergraduate course(branch during josaa counseling).

Candidate admitted to the prep course are also eligible to appear in next JEE Adv subject to failing other eligibility criteria.

The Preparatory Course of the IITs is held primarily to improve the intake of SC/ST students in the B.Tech and Dual Degree programme. This scheme waa started in 2009.
