What rank can I expect with 142 jee main 9 April 1st shift and what about NIT with average branch like civil chem etc ?

Now, according to the branches that you mentioned, Civil, chemical etc ; these branches of TOP NIT'S are even not good in terms of placement. In TOP NIT'S, Average placements are good but placement is not 100%.
So, in case of lower NIT'S it will be pretty tough to get placed with good packages. You can be hired by the mass recruiter, but the packages will not satisfy you.
Hardly you can get the placement according to your stream in core.
