What shall i do to become orthopaedist?
Dear Dolma, now NEET is a mandatory exam for admission into medical colleges both in India and abroad. Because Orthopaedics is a Specialisation, you have to complete your MBBS first. You have to appear for NEET UG/AIIMS MBBS/JIPMER MBBS and if qualified, you have to complete the 4 and 1/2 years duration of course and 1 year mandatory rotatory internship. Post which you have to appear for NEET PG and pursue your specialisation in Orthopaedics which is for another 2-3 years. This is the process in India. However if you want to pursue Medicine abroad, you still have to appear for NEET and once you finish your course abroad, you have to clear FMGE practise in India or even to pursue your PG.
Hello gasket,
For orthopaedic surgeon as a career option after graduation you can go for masters om ortho or for 2 year diploma course in orthopaedic field.
Hope it helps.
Thank you :)
