what should be the composite score in cat 2019 to get into nit?

among nits in india only NIT silchar has mba courses. eligibility criteria is you need to have 50% MARKS in your graduation and valid cat/mat/cmat score. however nit silchar doesnot reveal its cutoff for mba admission in official websites.  final selection will be done on group discussion and personal interview at the institution. however getting above 85 percentile on cat will be safe zone for selection.

CAT is a percentile based exam and therefore the score is not an important factor, in some cases like 2018, you could get more than 98 percentile only by getting 150 marks, that is just 50% of the total score, on the other hand you might not even get 95 with the same score in 2017 slot I paper. Therefore, your focus should be on solving the right questions, if you find that paper is hard, then it is hard for everyone, and scoring only 150 will fetch you a good call.
