Navy entrance exams test your aptitude and logical reasoning along with current affairs. This is common to all the defence entrance exams not only navy. Any stream will help if you keep yourself updated with current events and technology. Science is more preferred as it will keep you in touch with mathematics and logic and you don't have to strive hard to learn these topics. You can always strengthen up your general studies topic by reading newspapers and recent articles.
