There is no type of students who crack IIT exam. Any student can crack IIT paper who is determined and self motivated. You need to work really very hard to crack IIT paper. There is no such fix ratio generally 50%-60% students who crack IIT are droppers. This ratio can vary as well.
To crack IIT paper make sure your basics are clear. You can take help of NCERT books for that. Focus on important topics. Solve as many as MCQs for your practice. You can also solve complete mock test series to analyze your preparation level and to know your weak and strong areas. So, you can work upon them.
